This week, I recommend the sapphic historical urban fantasy romance Blood Remains by Cathy Pegau. It features a blood mage and a gangster finding love while taking down another gangster in prohibition-era Seattle. The worldbuilding is spectacular in this one and it has great found family rep too.

If you like historical novels with magic users, then you should check out Daughter of Mystery by Heather Rose Jones. This one isnât really a romance, although it has a romantic element. Itâs gorgeously written, has incredible worldbuilding, and masterful character arcs.
