Kris shares the latest in her day job projects and I talk about how my reading slump appears to have finally been busted (fingers crossed).
This week, Kris officially recommends the heartfelt mockumentary film Theater Camp (2023). It’s super queer and has racial and body diversity, too. I’ve been recommending it to everyone I know who needs a gentle comedy. Get into it.
I officially recommend the sapphic romance novel How You Get the Girl by Anita Kelly. What happens when a high school girls’ basketball coach convinces a former WNBA star—who is also her longtime crush—to be the team’s assistant coach? An excellent book that includes a slow-burn romance, depression representation, and a lead character figuring out if she’s asexual.
While we’re at it
If you’re interested in another slow-burn sapphic romance in a sports setting, then you should check out The Long Shot by A. L. Brooks. It has a professional golfer and a TV producer falling in love, and you don’t need to know anything about golf to enjoy this one!
